Член комітету Сенату США з питань розвідки Рон Вайден заявив, що втручання Росії у вибори президента вже відбувається у повній мірі.

"За ​​словами керівництва розвідувальних органів країни, це відбувається зараз. Керівництво розвідки каже, що росіяни дуже наполегливо працюють над тим, щоб у 2020 році зробити те, що намагалися зробити у 2016 році", - сказав Вайден.

Водночас сенатор відмовився повідомити деталі, посилаючись на секретність інформації, яку він отримав як член Комітету з питань розвідки.

Вайден заявив, що американські спецслужби повинні зробити більше до дня виборів, щоб попередити громадськість про втручання Росії.

"Я хочу, щоб вони надавали більше інформації, більше конкретних даних і не діяли як у 2016 році, що було занадто обережним", - сказав Вайден.

Раніше директор Національного центру контррозвідки та безпеки США Уільям Еваніна виступив із заявою про те, що Росія "використовує цілу низку заходів, щоб у першу чергу скомпрометувати колишнього віце-президента Байдена і те, що вона вважає антиросійським істеблішментом".

Крім того, сенатор-демократ Кріс Ван Холлен заявив, що "дуже стурбований" втручанням Росії як у президентські, так і у сенатські перегони.

"Розвідувальна спільнота заявила, що втручання триває", - сказав Ван Холлен.
