Уперше в своїй історії Пулітцерівську премію отримала новинна агенція Bloomberg. The New York Times отримала нагороди у трьох номінаціях.

За бездоганну «пояснювальну» журналістику було відзначено журналіста Bloomberg News Зачарі Майдера (Zachary Mider). Журналіст висвітлював проблему ухиляння від сплати податків американськими корпораціями.

За журналістські розслідування нагородили колектив the Wall Street Journal та Еріка Ліптона (Eric Lipton) із TheNewYorkTimes.

NYT, крім цього, отримала премії за міжнародну журналістику та зразкову фотографію.

The Los AngelesTimes була відзначена у двох номінаціях – за документальний нарис та критику.

За служіння суспільству Пулітцерівську премію отримало видання The Post and Courier за серію матеріалів про насильство щодо жінок у Південній Кароліні.

Пулітцерівська премія (The Pulitzer Prize) присуджується Школою журналістики Колумбійського університету у 21 номінаціях у сфері медіа, музики, драматургії.
