Чинний президент Словенії Борут Пахор переміг у другому турі виборів, набравши більше половини голосів.

Про це повідомляє Українська правда із посиланням на  "Reuters".

За підрахунками виборчої комісії 99,9% голосів, Пахор набрав близько 53% голосів, його суперник Камнік Мар’ян Шарец - 47%.

Зазначається, що явка виборців склала близько 42%, що є найнижчим показником для президентських виборів з часу, коли Словенія здобула незалежність у 1991 році.

"Я буду президентом всіх (словенців), я з'єднаю людей, опираючись на спільних рисах", - сказав Пахор після того, як забезпечив собі п'ятирічний мандат.

Він додав, що зосередиться на співпраці, політичній стабільності та безпеці.

Як відомо, хоча роль президента Словенії в основному церемоніальна, він очолює армію, а також висуває кілька високопосадовців, у тому числі і губернатора центрального банку. Більшість його кандидатур повинні бути підтверджені парламентом.
