Російське видання «Верстка» з посиланням на джерела повідомляє про 14 вересня. Псевдореферендуми хочуть провести на території лише двох український областей — Луганської та Донецької. 

Співрозмовники видання стверджують, що в кремлі хочуть провернути цей процес «якомога швидше», оскільки ситуація як на фронті, так і в ідеологічному плані застопорилася. Там визнають, що війна йде не за планом, і очікувалося, що принаймні Донецька та Луганська область уже кілька місяців як будуть окуповані.
