Журналіст британської телерадіомовної корпорації «Бі-бі-сі» Руперт Вінґфілд-Гейз був затриманий і висланий з Північної Кореї.

За даними «Бі-бі-сі», Вінґфілд-Гейз був затриманий 6 травня в аеропорту Пхеньяна, коли виїжджав із країни з двома іншими співробітниками британського мовника.

Журналіста допитували на самоті впродовж восьми годин і змусили підписати заяву, про зміст якої в повідомленні корпорації не йдеться. Після цього трьох співробітників «Бі-бі-сі» повернули до аеропорту.

«Керівництво Північної Кореї було незадоволене їхніми повідомленнями, в яких висвітлюються аспекти життя в столиці», – повідомляє «Бі-бі-сі».

Офіційне інформаційне агентство Китаю «Сіньхуа» повідомило, що Національний комітет захисту миру в Північній Кореї провів прес-конференцію 9 травня, на якій стверджував, що Руперт Вінґфілд-Гейз був висланий за «напад на систему і необ’єктивні репортажі».
