Американський президент Дональд Трамп на рік продовжив дію указу, що передбачає санкції проти іноземних осіб та організацій, які будуть намагатися втрутитися у вибори в США
Про це йдеться в офіційному повідомленні Білого дому.
"Хоча не було ніяких доказів того, що іноземна держава змінила результати або підрахунок голосів на будь-яких виборах у Сполучених Штатах, іноземні держави історично прагнули використовувати вільну і відкриту політичну систему Америки", - йдеться в повідомленні.
Відзначається, що в зв’язку з поширенням цифрових технологій масштаб і інтенсивність загрози іноземного втручання зросла.
"Здатність осіб, які перебувають повністю або значною мірою за межами США, втручатися чи підривати довіру громадськості до виборів у США, в тому числі за допомогою несанкціонованого доступу до інфраструктури виборів і кампаній або таємного поширення пропаганди та дезінформації, як і раніше являє собою незвичайну і надзвичайну загрозу для національної безпеки і зовнішньої політики США. Тому я вирішив, що необхідно продовжувати надзвичайний стан у країні, що був оголошений у виконавчому указі 13 848 щодо загрози іноземного втручання або підриву довіри громадськості до виборів у Сполучених Штатах", - йдеться в посланні.
Вибори президента США пройдуть 3 листопада 2020 року.
