Премію "Оскар" в категорії "кращий документальний фільм" отримала картина про колишнього співробітника ЦРУ Едварда Сноудена "Громадянин чотири".

Церемонія вручення нагороди кіноакадемії США "Оскар" проходить в неділю в Лос-Анджелесі, передає Укрінформ.

Режисер картини Лора Пойтрас, приймаючи премію, подякувала Сноудену за відвагу.

Пойтрас в січні 2013 року стала отримувати зашифровані електронні листи від якогось "Громадянина 4", який був готовий розкрити секрети програм по стеженню АНБ та інших агентств. У червні 2013 року вона разом з журналістом New York Times Гленном Грінвальдом вирушила в Гонконг на зустріч з цією людиною, яким і виявився Сноуден. Потім режисер не раз зустрічалася з ним, результатом цих зустрічей і став документальний фільм, що складається з інтерв'ю з екс-агентом.
