Київська міськрада прийняла рішення щодо 100%-го переведення на державну мову рекламних оголошень на зовнішніх носіях. Ухвалені Київською міськрадою рішення опубліковано у газеті "Хрещатик". Таким чином, уся реклама в столиці віднині має бути українською мовою.

Зокрема, ст. 1.7 Правил містить таку норму: "Реклама, яка розміщується на рекламному засобі, повинна відповідати вимогам законодавства, що визначає порядок застосування мов в Україні. Текст реклами наводиться державною мовою. У випадку використання у рекламному сюжеті написів іноземною мовою вони мають супроводжуватись перекладом чи транслітерацією державною мовою рівновеликим шрифтом".

У квітні Київська міськрада суттєво обмежила розміщення зовнішньої реклами у столиці та заборонила рекламу в історичному центрі.

Йдеться насамперед про охоронні зони заповідника Києво-Печерська лавра, простір біля Софії Київської, на Андріївському узвозі, вулицях Володимирській, Богдана Хмельницького, Грушевського, Верхньому і Нижньому Валах, Великій Житомирській, Стрілецькій, Лисенка, Ярославовому Валу, Софійській та Михайлівській площах, а також на вулицях Банковій, Басейній, Липській, Поштовій, Контрактовій і Європейській площах.
