За традицією, після голосування колеги по парламенту "тягнуть" спікера до свого місця, а він удає, що опирається,передає ВВС

Ця традиція історично пов'язана з функцією спікера передавати думки Палати громад монарху. Раніше якщо король або королева не погоджувалися з висловленою думкою, спікера могли стратити.

Тому неважко здогадатися, що обраного кандидата доводилося "переконувати" обійняти посаду.
