Новый международный «антифейковый» сайт основателя Wikipedia Джимми Уэйлса получил название WikiTribune, сообщает Tadviser, и будет точно так же использовать работу добровольных помощников. Основной целью ресурса станет разоблачение фейковой информации, для чего новостной портал будет регулярно публиковать статьи профессиональных журналистов, которые станут проверяться многочисленными волонтерами со всего мира.

Новый сайт будет свободен от рекламы, и все средства на поддержку своего существования станет получать от добровольных спонсоров.

Предполагается, что проект поможет определить наиболее надежные источники информации, выявить журналистов и издания, злоупотребляющих доверием читателей, и сделать работу СМИ максимально прозрачной.
