Народна депутатка від "Голосу" Соломія Бобровська заявляє, що партія "Слуга народу" подала міністра охорони здоров’я Максима Степанова першим номером у списку на вибори до Одеської обласної ради.

"Не розваливши до кінця МОЗ, чинний міністр охорони здоров’я Максим Степанов йде першим!! номером в Одеську обласну раду від....Слуги народу!

Якраз під відставку уряду всі шукають собі нові місця. Оце так міністерські виборчі букети".

Довідка: Максим Степанов пару років очолював Одеську обласну державну адміністрацію, а тепер очолює Міністерство охорони здоров’я.

Степанов у 2008-2010  роках працював першим заступником голови Одеської обласної держадміністрації Миколи Сердюка, їх обох звільнили, коли до влади прийшов Віктор Янукович.

З 12 січня 2017 року до 10 квітня 2019 року Степанов очолював Одеську ОДА. 6 квітня 2019 року тодішній президент Петро Порошенко відсторонив його від виконання обов’язків, але Степанов відмовлявся полишати посаду.

30 березня 2020 року Степанов очолив Міністерство охорони здоров'я України в Кабінеті міністрів Дениса Шмигаля, ставши четвертим міністром на цій посаді за 7 місяців.
