Про це розповів екс-керівник британської рекламної компанії WPP Мартін Сорелл. Доходи Facebook за 2018 рік зросли на 36 %.

Як пише The Guardian, Мартін Сорелл (Martin Sorrell) переконаний, що «рік скандалів» із компанією Facebook не вплинув на зацікавленість до неї рекламодавців. Соціальна мережа продовжує ділити більшу частину ринку цифрової реклами із Google.

Цього року Facebook активно критикували за витоки даних і поширення фейкових новин. На думку пана Сорелла, вирівняти своє становище компанія змогла завдяки соціальній мережі Instagram.

«Довкола Facebook була певна нервозність. Утім це лише сфокусувало кошти в Instagram. Тому, що би Facebook не втратила, це, ймовірно, перетекло в Instagram», — каже пан Сорелл.

Доходи компанії за 2018 рік зросли на 36 % — до $54 млрд. Схоже, що уражена репутація Facebook не вплинула на її статус рекламного посередника.

Компанія придбала Instagram у 2012 році за $1 млрд. З того часу ця соціальна мережа стала двигуном для майбутнього розвитку Facebook, успішно утримуючи молоду аудиторію. За 2018 рік доходи від реклами у Instagram виросли на 110 % — до $9 млрд, згідно даних компанії eMarketer.

Очікується, що до 2020 року цей показник продовжить рости на 44 % щороку. Для соціальної мережі Facebook прогнозована цифра у два рази менша.

Нагадаємо, нещодавно прокуратура США відкрила справу щодо Facebook і Cambridge Analytica.
