Колишнього голову Європарламенту Мартіна Шульца затверджено на партійному з'їзді головою Соціал-демократичної партії Німеччини (СДПН) та офіційно затверджено кандидатом у канцлери Німеччини.

За даними видання, "із 100-відсотковим схвалення, його партія обрала його новим головою".

За Шульца проголосували 605 з 608 делегатів, допущених до голосування. Три бюлетеня були визнані недійсними.

У той же час він був офіційно затверджений кандидатом на пост канцлера Німеччини.

"Це вирішальний момент для мене і для всіх нас", - сказав Шульц.

"Цей результат знаменує початок боротьби за посаду канцлера", - додав він.

Нагадаємо, наприкінці січня екс-президент Європарламенту Мартін Шульц став єдиним кандидатом на посаду канцлера від Соціал-демократичної партії Німеччини (СДПН) на майбутніх виборах. Проте офіційне затвердження відбулося сьогодні, 19 березня.

Шульц наприкінці минулого року оголосив, що залишає посаду президента Європарламенту, щоб балотуватися восени до Бундестагу і претендувати на посаду канцлера ФРН.

Раніше повідомлялося, що міністр фінансів Німеччини Вольфганг Шойбле назвав Мартіна Шульца, кандидата на посаду канцлера ФРН від соціал-демократів, "німецьким Дональдом Трампом".
