Сейм Польщі схвалив пропозицію правлячої партії "Закон і справедливість" про проведення виборів президента країни у встановлений законом термін (10 травня), незважаючи на пандемію коронавірусу
 

Більшість парламентаріїв підтримали законопроект, який дозволяє провести голосування поштою, повідомляє DW.

Тепер документ спрямований в Сенат (верхню палату парламенту), в якому більше половини місць займає опозиція. Її представники виступають за перенесення виборів.

Зокрема, представник Громадянської коаліції Борис Будка заявив, що пошта не зможе доставити бюлетені всім 30 мільйонам виборців вчасно, оскільки багато співробітників перебувають на лікарняному.

Один з прихильників перенесення виборів віцепрем'єр Ярослав Говін подав у відставку. Він пропонував відкласти голосування на два роки через поширення коронавірусу, внести зміни до конституції і продовжити термін повноважень чинного президента з умовою, що той більше не буде висувати свою кандидатуру. 

Нинішній президент Польщі Анджей Дуда виступає кандидатом від правлячої партії і лідирує в опитуваннях громадської думки.

Раніше опозиційний кандидат в президенти Малгожата Кідава-Блонська закликала бойкотувати вибори в Польщі і зняла свою кандидатуру.

У Польщі коронавірусом заразилися більш ніж чотири тисячі осіб, 107 померли.
