Про це свідчать результати дослідження, проведеного Reuters Institute.

Таким чином 44% опитаних, що, в свою чергу, представляє дві третини всіх користувачів Facebook, говорять, що вони використовують Facebook для новин.

Окрім того, YouTube також є ключовою мережею, яку використовують, щоб бути у курсі подій  - 19%.

Twitter  також залишається важливою соціальною мережею для новин (10%). Instagram продовжує рости швидко, поряд з WhatsApp.

Facebook є найбільшою мережею в кожній країні - за винятком Японії. Переважно через те, що японці надають перевагу мережам, які дозволяють анонімність.
