Самая большая в мире резиновая утка впервые плывет в Нью-Йорк: она станет специальной «гостьей» ежегодного фестиваля устриц в бухте Ойстер-Бэй. Об этом сообщает New York Post. Тематическое мероприятие будет проходить 17 и 18 октября, передает Газета.ru

Вес огромной конструкции составляет около 10 тонн, высота достигает 18,6 м. Издание называет гигантскую утку «Голиафом», который становится героем соцсетей в каждом городе, куда приезжает.

Нидерландский художник Флоретин Хофман создает эти конструкции с 2007 года и заявляет, что «резиновая утка не знает границ и не имеет политического подтекста». В частности, утка уже побывала в Амстердаме, Осаке, Сиднее, Сан-Паулу, Питтсбурге и Гонконге.

Присутствие утки на нью-йоркском фестивале призвано вдохновить посетителей на сохранение природных ресурсов, а также привлечь внимание к безопасности на воде, однако в реальности конструкция, вероятно, вдохновит гостей на множество селфи, пишет газета.

Ранее сообщалось, что новыми достопримечательностями Китая и Тайваня стали огромные желтые утки.
