Премьер-министр Испании Мариано Рахой уходит в отставку после вотума недоверия, вынесенного парламентом страны, сообщает ВВС.

Вотум недоверия был проголосован в связи с громким коррупционным скандалом, в котором были замешаны полтики и бизнесмены, близкие к консервативной Народной партии Рахоя. В частности, десятки лиц обвинялись в уклонении от уплаты налогов и в мошенничестве в 2000-х годах.

За недоверие кабмину Рахоя проголосовали 180 депутатов, против - 169 депутатов.

Новым премьером станет лидер Социалистической партии Педро Санчес.

"Мы собираемся написать новую страницу в истории демократии Испании", - заявил Санчес. 

Рахой занимал пост премьера Испании с 2011 года. 

В конце мая в рамках дела были вынесены приговоры 29 особам, один из главных организаторов коррупционной схемы по финансированию Народной партии Франсиско Корреа был осужден на 51 год заключения, партийный казанчей  Луис Барсенас был осужден до 33 лет и 44 млн евро штрафа.
