Скорее всего, премьер-министром Италии станет лидер крупнейшей партии «Братья Италии» Джорджа Мелони. Ожидается, что это будет самое правое правительство со времён Муссолини. 

Кроме «Братьев Италии», в коалиции представлены «Лига Севера» Матео Сальвини и партия «Вперёд, Италия» Сильвио Берлускони, известного своими дружескими отношениями с Путиным.

Берлускони и Сальвини известны своей пророссийской риторикой. Они также выступают против ужесточения антироссийских санкций. Мелони же считает, что санкции снять уже нельзя, однако за их усиление она не высказывалась.
