Правляча Консервативна партія впевнено перемагає на місцевих виборах у Великій Британії, повідомляє Новое время

Під час місцевих виборів, які стартували у четвер, партії боролися за 4 851 місце у 88 місцевих радах в Шотландії, Уельсі, Англії. Місцеві вибори пройшли за п'ять тижнів до загальних парламентських виборів, запланованих на 8 червня.

Згідно з остаточними результатами підрахунку голосів в 23 графствах Англії та Уельсу, консерватори отримали контроль над 10 місцевими радами і тепер мають 561 мандат, що на 155 місць більше, ніж вони мали раніше.

Лейбористи отримали контроль над 5 місцевими радами і мають 404 мандата, що на 125 місць менше, ніж вони мали раніше.

Ліберальні демократи Тіма Фаррона орієнтовно отримують 142 мандата, що на 29 місць менше, ніж вони мали раніше. Партія Уельсу отримала 47 мандатів, що на 12 більше, ніж політсила мала раніше.

Аутсайдером виявилася Партія незалежності (UKIP), вона втратила 41 мандат і не виграла поки жодного місця.

18 квітня прем'єр-міністр Тереза Мей оголосила про дострокові парламентські вибори, які відбудуться 8 червня. 

За словами Мей, уряд має ефективний план переговорів про умови виходу Великої Британії зі складу Європейського союзу, і йому потрібна політична єдність в Лондоні.
