Помер народний депутат України від партії «Слуга народу» Сергій Швець. Смерть настала після тривалої боротьби з важкою хворобою. Про це сьогодні, 28 травня, повідомив голова фракції «Слуга народу» Давид Арахамія.

«Сергій Швець гідно пройшов свій професійний шлях — від журналістики до роботи у Верховній Раді України. Ми запам’ятаємо його чесною, порядною, принциповою людиною. Вічна пам'ять», — додав Арахамія.

Сергій Швець народився 13 червня 1976 року в Черкасах. Як пише рух «Чесно», він закінчив Національний університет «Києво-Могилянська академія» за спеціальністю «Культурологія» та Київський національний економічний університет за фахом «Міжнародні економічні відносини».

У 1995–1996 роках Сергій Швець працював редактором і кореспондентом програми «Вікна» на каналі СТБ. У 1997 році був автором і ведучим рубрик у програмах «Бомба» та «Сніданок з 1+1» на телеканалі «1+1». З 1998 до 2000 року був спеціальним кореспондентом «Вікон».

У 2000–2004 роках Швець працював спеціальним кореспондентом програм «День сьомий», «Свобода слова» та «Факти» на телеканалі ICTV. У 2004–2009 роках був ведучим програми «ТСН-Варта», «Сніданок з 1+1», кореспондентом ТСН. 

У 2019 році Сергій Швець потрапив до парламенту, здобувши перемогу як мажоритарник у 214 окрузі (Дніпровський район Києва). Був секретарем Комітету Верховної Ради України з питань свободи слова.
