У Тель-Авіві в середу у віці 93 років помер колишній президент Ізраїля Шимон Перес, пише Українська правда.
 

Перес був госпіталізований через інсульт два тижні тому. Лікарі домоглися певного прогресу в його стані до раптового погіршення його здоров'я у вівторок.

Перес був президентом Ізраїлю з 2007 по 2014 роки. У 1994 році Перес спільно з тодішнім прем'єром Ізраїлю Іцхаком Рабином і палестинським лідером Ясиром Арафатом отримав Нобелівську премію за зусилля щодо досягнення миру і внесок у мирне врегулювання на Близькому Сході.
