У листопаді Мінфін США через Управління з контролю за іноземними активами (OFAC) вже ввів санкції щодо криптовалютного міксера Sinbad за сприяння Lazarus у відмиванні $ 850 млн.

Але Північнокорейські хакери з угруповання Lazarus проявили рекордну активність — переказали десятки біткоїнів з рахунку на рахунок або в «криптоміксер». 

Хакери вже перевели 27,371 BTC ($ 1,2 млн за поточним курсом) на «міксер криптовалюти», а потім відправили 3,343 BTC на раніше використану неактивну адресу.

Зараз хакери з КНДР тримають близько $ 79 млн на своїх гаманцях.

Вважається, що Lazarus спонсорується урядом Північної Кореї. Вони відповідальні за третину всіх хакерських атак, здійснених у 2023 році. З 2017 по 2023 рік зловмисникам вдалося викрасти близько $ 3 млрд, зокрема в криптовалюті. За останні шість років північнокорейські хакери вкрали в криптовалюті більше, ніж уся КНДР заробляє від експорту за рік.
