Шиїно відмовилася від омріяного титулу через новий скандал, пише Kyodo News. Японські таблоїди опублікували інформацію, у якій йдеться, що Кароліна має стосунки з одруженим чоловіком. Організатори "Міс Японія" спочатку підтримали Шиїно після того, як вона повідомила своєму модельному агентству Free Wave Co., що припинила стосунки, дізнавшись, що чоловік одружений. Але в новій заяві агентства написано, що вона продовжувала зустрічатися з японцем після того, як дізналася про його сімейний стан.

У вибаченнях, опублікованих на своїй Instagram-сторінці, Кароліна сказала, що не змогла сказати правду через розгубленість і страх після виходу статті. "Мені щиро шкода за величезну біду, яку я спричинила, і за те, що зрадила тих, хто підтримував мене", – написала вона.

Асоціація «Міс Японія» заявила, що задовольнила прохання моделі відмовитися від свого титулу. А також попросила вибачення в  спонсорів й суддів. Найвища нагорода конкурсу залишатиметься вакантною до кінця року.
