Найбільшою партією за підсумками виборів залишаються соціал-демократи - партнер Меркель із коаліції на національному рівні. СДПН отримала 39,1% голосів, що приблизно на шість процентних пунктів менше, ніж на виборах 2015 року, але цього достатньо, щоб нинішній мер Петер Щенчер втримав владу.

Друге місце зайняли Зелені з результатом 24,1% голосів, що майже вдвічі більше, ніж п'ять років тому.

Вибори також були відзначені високою явкою в 62% виборців, що набагато вище, ніж на виборах 2011 і 2015 років.
