Парламент Великої Британії проголосував проти проведення дострокових загальних виборів 15 жовтня, тобто за два тижні до можливого виходу з ЄС.

Про це повідомляє "Європейська правда" з посиланням на ВВС.

Пропозицію про проведення виборів вніс прем'єр-міністр Борис Джонсон після того, як депутати прийняли законопроєкт, який блокує "жорсткий" Brexit.

За проведення виборів проголосували лише 298 депутатів, тоді як для такого рішення необхідно дві третини голосів, тобто мінімум 434.

Лідер опозиційної Лейбористської партії Джеремі Корбін заявив, що погодиться провести дострокові вибори, як тільки законопроєкт про блокування "жорсткого" Brexit прийме верхня палата парламенту і він стане законом, що може статися в понеділок. Однак він не сказав, чи згоден він з вибором дати Джонсона.

Глава уряду заявив, що у п'ятницю планує знову внести на голосування пропозицію про дострокові вибори.

Відзначимо, що вже, 9 вересня Джонсон планує призупинити роботу парламенту до 14 жовтня.
