Обратите внимание, в Америке редко используется фраза "погиб в ДТП". Чаще применяется слово "kill", то есть "убит". Ведь, по сути, это так и есть. Убит - потому что в убийстве всегда есть виновник. Потому что машина при определённых обстоятельствах - это оружие. И ею управляет человек. Тот самый, который потом ответит за убийство.
