Основатель Wikipedia Джимми Уэйлс стал одним из руководителей мобильного оператора The People"s Operator и социальной сети TPO.com. Главное отличие указанных новых проектов — их благотворительная направленность и полное отсутствие рекламы,пишет delo.ua

"Народный оператор" 10% своей выручки перечисляет на благотворительные цели. Пользователи The People"s Operator сами выбирают, куда именно. В соцсети TPO.com пожертвовать деньги можно простым нажатием кнопки.

По словам Джимми Уэйлса, оператор и соцсеть не будут тратить деньги на рекламу. "Мы тратим ваши деньги на те вещи, которые действительно вас волнуют, а не на рекламу", — подчеркнул глава The People"s Operator. Он считает, что принцип "сарафанного радио" намного действенней, чем когда-либо прежде
