Президент США Барак Обама висунув Марі Йованович на пост посла в Україні.

Про це повідомляє в середу, 18 травня, прес-служба Білого дому, пише Українська правда.

Також повідомляється, що нинішнього керівника американської дипмісії в Україні Джеффрі Пайєтта Обама висунув на посаду посла США в Греції.

Крім того, Обама оголосив про намір призначити нових послів в Лаос, Ірак, Бурунді і Філіппіни.

До цього Йованович працювала на посаді помічника держсекретаря і відповідала за двосторонні відносини з країнами Скандинавії, Балтії та Центральної Європи.

Також вона обіймала посаду посла у Вірменії (2008 – 2011 рр.) і Киргизстану (2005 – 2008 рр.)

Раніше повідомлялося, що наступником Джеффрі Пайєтта на посаді посла США в Україні може стати Марі Йованович, яка від 2012 року обіймає посаду головного заступника помічника держсекретаря у Бюро з європейських та азійських справ.

Однак в Держдепартаменті цю інформацію не підтверджували.
