Бывшие президенты США Джордж Буш и Джордж Буш-младший отказались поддержать кандидата в президенты США от Республиканской партии Дональда Трампа.
 

Об этом сообщает The Guardian со ссылкой на пресс-секретарей экс-президентов США, передает Еспресо

По их словам, оба Буша, которые, как и Трамп, были республиканцами, "не собираются принимать участие в президентской кампании или комментировать ее".

Издание отмечает, что эта позиция может быть обусловлена личными причинами. Джеб, брат Буша-младшего, до февраля этого года был кандидатом в президенты США от Республиканской партии. Однако во время президентской гонки сторонники Трампа часто подвергали его критике.

Кроме того, Трамп обвинил Буша-младшего во лжи о наличии оружия массового поражения в Ираке, чтобы оправдать действия США в этой стране в 2003 году.
