Журнал Новое Время склав рейтинг 15 найпопулярніших загальнонаціональних новинних сайтів.

Основою для його складання стала кількість переглядів сторінок того чи іншого сайту у жовтні 2015 року, за даними Gemius.

На першому місці опинився Обозреватель. У трійку лідерів також увійшли Цензор та Українська правда. За ними слідують Кореспондент, ТСН, Сегодня, УНІАН, 24, Головком ICTV, Gazeta.ua, Вести, Новое Время, 112 і LB.ua.

Українська аудиторія перетікає в інтернет: найбільші новинні сайти стають такими впливовими, як і телебачення.

Як показує опитування міжнародної дослідницької компанії Nielsen, проведене в 60 країнах, у тому числі і Україні, 48% українців отримують новини з інтернету, для 51% їх джерело - ТВ, для 47% - соцмережі. Радіо і друкована преса служать основним джерелом новин для 10 % і 9 % відповідно.

Новинний інтернет-простір України можна поділити на три умовні групи. Перша пов'язана з великими медіахолдингами, наприклад каналом 1+1, що розвиває ТСН - найуспішніший інтернет-проект серед телевізійників. Друга група пов'язана з бізнесменами середньої руки або політиками. Вони готові розщедритися - якщо і не заради прибутку, то через бажання створити впливовий ресурс в інформаційному полі. Наприклад,Обозреватель Михайла Бродського або Гордон Дмитра Гордона. Третя група - проекти, які позиціонують себе як незалежні та існують відносно давно, як Українська правда, або з'являються лише зараз, як Платформа.

Розвитку інтернет-ЗМІ супроводжує як мінімум три фактори. Перший: відносно низький поріг входу, що привертає в галузь навіть початківців-бізнесменів. Другий: у період затяжної політичної турбулентності посилилися інформаційні міжусобиці, при яких всім сторонам конфліктів, щоб відстрілюватися від опонентів, знадобився свій медійний майданчик. І третій: споживачі все менше довіряють великим ЗМІ, які через свою хронічну збитковість сидять на дотаціях політично ангажованих акціонерів. Глядач, читач, слухач хоче мати альтернативне, очищене від олігархії джерело інформації.
