Немецкое правительство в среду одобрило введение штрафов на сумму до 53 млн долларов против соцсетей, которые не будут удалять разжигающие ненависть сообщения и фейковые новости после жалоб пользователей, пише ВВС

"Преступления на почве ненависти, с которыми недостаточно эффективно борются, представляют огромную опасность для мирного единства свободного, открытого и демократического общества", - цитирует Франс пресс заявление кабинета министров.

С тех пор как в Германию в 2015 году прибыло более миллиона мигрантов, количество возбуждающих вражду нападок в социальных сетях выросло во много раз.

Правительство несколько раз предупреждало интернет-компании, что они недостаточно эффективно борются с подобным контентом.

Кроме того, в сентябре этого года в Германии пройдут выборы. Многие немецкие политики опасаются, что перед выборами в социальных сетях появится множество ложной информации.

В случае если законопроект получит одобрение парламента, у соцсетей будет только 24 часа после поступления жалобы, чтобы удалить посты, которые открыто нарушают немецкий закон.

Законопроект, одобренный кабмином, также касается детской порнографии и деятельности, связанной с терроризмом, в интернете.

В Германии уже действует один из самых жестких в мире законов об аргессивной риторике, который касается распространения порочащих сведений, клеветы, подстрекательств и угроз.
