Після підрахунку 94 відсотків голосів права консервативна партія "Нова демократія" Кіріакоса Міцотакіса набирає майже 40 відсотків, в той час як коаліцію радикальних лівих сил СІРІЗА на чолі з прем'єр-міністром Алексісом Ципрасом підтримали лише 31,5 відсотка.

Міцотакіс в ніч на понеділок, 8 липня, пообіцяв громадянам країни зниження податків, залучення інвестицій і пожвавлення економіки. "Ми вибралися з порочного кола", - заявив він, пообіцявши, що "Греція гордо підніме голову".

Тим часом грецька націоналістична партія "Хрісі Авгі" ( "Золотий світанок"), відома своїми расистськими і ксенофобськими заявами, на цей раз не проходить до парламенту, не дивлячись на низький тривідсотковий бар'єр.

У той же час 10 місць в парламенті отримує ультраправа партія "Еллінікі лісі" ("Грецьке рішення") екс-журналіста Кіріакоса Велопулоса. За неї проголосували 3,71 відсотка виборців.
