Министерство юстиции признало Илью Киву председателем Социалистической партии Украины.

Именно так он теперь значится в Едином реестре общественных формирований Минюста.

При этом лидером партии-главой политсовета указан Петр Устенко.

После того, как 8 июля Кива объявил себя лидером СПУ, ряд членов партии заявили о рейдерском захвате политсилы и "фейковом" избрании Кивы. Об этом, в частности, писал в фейсбуке экс-глава фракции СПУ в парламенте Иван Бокий.

Социалистическая партия Украины - одна из старейших политсил страны. Основана в 1991 году Александром Морозом, партия была представлена в Верховной Раде с 1991 по 2007 год. Причиной упадка политсилы стала коалиция с Партией регионов в 2006 году. В 2012 году Мороз покинул пост лидера СПУ.

Илья Кива - советник главы МВД Арсена Авакова, ранее возглавлял батальон территориальной обороны "Полтавщина", был заместителем нальника ГУМВД в Донецкой и Херсонской областях и начальником департамента противодействия наркопреступности Национальной полиции.
