Компанії Microsoft і Amazon підтримали позов до президента США Дональда Трампа, який подав генеральний прокурор штату Вашингтон Боб Фергюсон.

Прокурор виступив проти антиімміграційного указу Трампа, який забороняє в'їзд на територію США мігрантам з семи мусульманських країн.

Як заявив представник Microsoft, компанія буде рада надати підтримку в тому, щоб показати, який вплив матиме даний указ. Крім того, компанія має намір надавати прокурору підтримку і надалі.

Компанії Amazon і Expedia також готують заяви, покликані показати негативний вплив указу на розвиток бізнесу. Голова Amazon Джефф Безос заявив про те, що юридичний департамент компанії готує заяву на підтримку прокурора, який виступає проти указу. Крім того, вони розглядають і інші юридичні методи впливу.

Проти антиімміграційного указу виступили також голова компаній Tesla і SpaceX Ілон Маск і засновник Facebook Марк Цукерберг.

27 січня Трамп розпорядився протягом 4 місяців не впускати до країни біженців з Іраку, Сирії, Ірану, Судану, Лівії, Сомалі та Ємену. Документ вступив у дію вже наступного дня. Президент США пояснив своє рішення боротьбою з тероризмом.

Але його рішення викликало невдоволення у міжнародного співтовариства. Зокрема, ООН закликала Вашингтон відмовитися від цих обмежень і надавати притулок людям, які його потребують, а нобелівські лауреати підписали петицію проти рішення Трампа обмежити імміграцію. Вони відзначили, що президентський указ шкодить американській науці, а також може розділити сім'ї.
