Мер Лондона Садік Хан вважає за недоцільне для британського уряду зустрічати американського президента Дональда Трампа червоною доріжкою.
Про це повідомляє Evening Standard.
"Державні візити відрізняються від звичайних і коли президент США здійснює політику, з якою у нашій країні багато хто не згодний, я не впевнений, що для нашого уряду доцільно розстеляти перед ним червону доріжку" - сказав Хан.
Прем'єр-міністр Британії Тереза Мей офіційно запросила Трампа в січні цього року, проте в своїй промові королева Єлизавета II не згадала про це.
В ЗМІ неодноразово з’являлася інформація про перенесення візиту Трампа на наступний рік.
Мер британської столиці неодноразово критикував Трампа за його міграційний указ і вже виступав проти його візиту до Британії. У відповідь Трамп розкритикував Хана за його повідомлення після атак на лондонському мосту, коли мер "попросив жителів не хвилюватися" через збільшення числа поліцейських на вулиці.
