В дискуссии не примут участие премьер-министр, лидер тори Дэвид Кэмерон и его партнер по правящей коалиции, глава Либерал-демократической партии Ник Клегг.

В первом же обращении к зрителям второго раунда дебатов лидер лейбористов Эд Милибэнд пообещал в первую очередь заняться нуждами рабочего класса. Председатель крайне правой Партии независимости Соединенного Королевства (UKIP) Найджел Фарадж уверяет, что сконцентрируется на помощи малому бизнесу.

Лидер шотландских националистов Никола Стерджен выразила надежду, что с помощью ее партии союз различных частей королевства будет эффективнее работать на благо всей страны.

Лидеры Партии Уэльса и Партии зеленых также выступят в четверг вечером.

Британский парламент был распущен в конце марта в преддверии всеобщих выборов, которые пройдут 7 мая.
