Американець Тім Ґей зі штату Нью-Йорк та його родина встановили найбільшу у світі різдвяну ілюмінацію. Прикраса із 720 426 лампочок потрапила у Книгу рекордів Гіннеса. Однак не усім сусідам таке шоу довподоби. Про це повідомляє UPI.

Вперше Тім Ґей із міста Юніон-Вейл  встановив світовий рекорд у 2012-му. Гірлянда мала лише 346 283 лампочок. За 10 років їх кількість подвоїлася.

На вигляд подвір’я Ґеїв є концентрацією святкового настрою. Але не усім це подобається. Сусіди скаржаться – втомлюються від постійного мерехтіння лампочок. А ще люди приходять подивитися на рекорд і накидають повно сміття на чужих подвір’ях – парканів же американці не ставлять. Поліція переймається, що відпочивальники загороджують своїми авто проїзд екстреним службам. 

Один із містян – Едвард Каше – навіть погрожує балотуватися у міську раду, аби нарешті припинити це різдвяне свавілля офіційними указами. 

Міська голова Бетсі Маас розводить руками – немає у влади повноважень забороняти гірлянди.

“Ви що, хочете спробувати позбутися Санти?” – коментує вона.

Тім Ґей каже – нічого змінювати не буде.

“Якщо це подобається 50 тис. людей, то думка 10-20 людей, які проти, мало що значить”, – каже він.
