Хиллари Клинтон проиграла предварительные выборы кандидата в президенты США от Демократической партии в штате Мэн, набрав 36% голосов. Ее соперник, сенатор Берни Сандерс набрал 64%, сообщает Гордон.

 

По данным телеканала, в праймериз приняло участие рекордное число желающих, почти 47 тыс. человек. Жители штата стояли в очередях, несмотря на плохую погоду, чтобы отдать предпочтение тому или иному кандидату от демократов.

Чтобы стать официальным кандидатом от Демократической партии на пост президента США, претенденту необходимо заручиться поддержкой 2383 делегатов из 4764 участников национального партийного съезда, который пройдет 25–28 июля.

Выборы президента США запланированы на 8 ноября.
