У лютому 2018 року Каньє Вест (не вперше) видалив свої акаунти у соцмережах Twitter і Instagram. До Twitter він згодом повернувся і досі активно його веде. В Instagram Каньє також повертався, проте, ненадовго: профіль не був активний з жовтня 2018 року.

Перша публікація Вести після повернення — агітаційне відео з закликом підтримати його на прийдешніх виборах президента США, як вписаного кандидата (такого, що не вказаний в бюлетені офіційно).
