Сервис размещения фотографий Instagram поменяет принципы формирования ленты новостей. Об этом сообщается в блоге компании.
Сейчас лента формируется в хронологическом порядке. В будущем принципы появления формирования ленты будут похожи на те, что применяютсяв Facebook, пишет Медуза
В Instagram сообщили, что ленты будут формироваться с помощью алгоритма, учитывающего несколько факторов. Среди них — вероятность того, что пользователю понравится фотография или видео, связи с аккаунтом, где была размещена публикация, а также время публикации.
Изменения алгоритма будут происходить постепенно. В ближайшие месяцы Instagram перейдет на формирование ленты только на основе популярности фотографий и видео, потом алгоритм будет усложнен.
«Возможно, вы будете удивлены, узнав, что в среднем люди пропускают 70 процентов своих лент. Поскольку Instagram вырос, стало сложнее отслеживать все фотографии и видеозаписи, которые выкладывают люди. Это значит, что вы очень часто не видите наиболее важные посты», — говорится в сообщении Instagram (англ. яз.).

В августе 2015 года Instagram внес технические изменения, касающиеся размещения рекламы. В сентябре того же года у рекламодателей появилась возможность публиковать на платформе видеоконтент. Все это привело к валообразному росту количества рекламы в сервисе.
