Благодійний фонд актора Джорджа Клуні та його жінки Амаль пожертвував $1 млн "Південному центру правового захисту бідності" на боротьбу з групами ненависті після зібрань націоналістів у Шарлотсвіллі.

"Ми пишаємося тим, що підтримуємо "Південний центр правового захисту бідності" та його роботу у запобіганні насильницькому екстремізму в Сполучених Штатах. Те, що трапилось у Шарлотсвіллі і те, що відбувається у громадах по всій країні вимагає від нас протистояти ненависті", - написали Джордж та Амаль у спільній заяві.

"Амаль  і я хотіли додати наш голос та фінансову допомогу до боротьби за рівність. Адже немає двох сторін фанатизму та ненависті", - написав Джордж Клуні.

Зазначається, що ця пожертва допоможе некомерційній організації проводити моніторинг діяльності американських груп ненависті та екстремістів.
