Федеральне агентство розслідувань Пакистану заарештувало 44-річну Шарбат Гулу, відому зі знімка Стіва МакКаррі (Steve McCurry) «Афганська дівчинка», зробленого фотографом ще в 1984 році.
 

Фото згодом було надруковане на обкладинці одного з випусків National Geographic та стало одним із найбільш пізнаваних знімків журналу, пише Media Sapiens

Нині Шарбат Гула (відома також як Шарбат Бібі - MS) звинувачується у використанні підроблених документів і корупції. Під час обшуку у жінки знайшли два посвідчення особи: пакистанське і афганське, пише Skroll.in.  Пакистанський телеканал Geo також повідомив про відсторонення від обов'язків трьох місцевих чиновників, які, як передбачається, могли незаконно видати жінці документи.

Фотографія Шарбат Гули, зроблена Стівом МакКаррі в таборі біженців Насир-Баг в Пешаварі в 1984 році, отримала міжнародне визнання і часто порівнюється з Джокондою Леонардо да Вінчі. Тривалий час дівчинку з фото не могли ідентифікувати, однак МакКаррі зумів знайти героїню фото знову в 2002 році. Її знімок став символом радянської війни в Афганістані.
