Україна не скасовувала святкування річниці звільнення від фашистських загарбників 28 жовтня. Дезінформацію про це поширило РІА «Новости». 

27 жовтня американський журналіст та письменник Расс Беллант у коментарі для РІА «Новости» заявив, що українська влада скасувала святкування річниці визволення від фашистських загарбників, а президент Петро Порошенко натомість започаткував нове свято – День захисника України 14 жовтня,повідомляє Телекритика

Як повідомляє прес-служба президента України, на 28 жовтня заплановано участь Петра Порошенка у церемонії вшанування пам’яті загиблих та покладення квітів до могили Невідомого солдата у парку Слави з нагоди річниці визволення України від фашистських загарбників.
