Соціальна мережа Facebook вперше на території США активувала сервіс Safety Check (Перевірка безпеки" - ред), повідомляє ТСН.

Приводом для активізації послужила атака на гей-клуб в Орландо (штат Флорида).

Функція дозволяє друзям користувача дізнаватися, чи все з ним у порядку, після того як він опинився в безпосередній близькості від місця якоїсь трагедії. Також сервіс пропонує оперативно отримати потрібну інформацію та зв'язатися з друзями в зоні лиха.
