Адміністрація соцмережі Facebook виявила у Канаді, Бразилії, США та Україні мережі фейкових акаунтів, які використовувалися в тому числі під час політичних кампаній.
 

Про це повідомив глава політики кібербезпеки Facebook Натаніель Глейхер.

Зокрема в Україні Facebook видалила 72 фейкових аккаунта, 35 фейкових сторінок і 13 фейкових Instagram-акаунтів. Загалом на ці акаунти були підписані близько 770 тис. користувачів.

Власники фейкових сторінок маскували їх під незалежні акаунти і онлайн-медіа та використовували для поширення неправдивої інформації, маніпуляцій даними і коментування дописів для їх просування на платформі.

При цьому власники сторінок використовували різні моделі дій, у тому числі періодичну зміну назв фейкових акаунтів.

Керівники сторінок і акаунтів публікували політичні меми, сатиру та інші повідомлення, зокрема про Крим, НАТО, українську економіку, внутрішню політику, вибори, різних політиків, у тому числі про Володимира Зеленського, Юлію Тимошенко і Петра Порошенка", - розповів Глейхер.

Фейкові сторінки використовували і під час президентських виборів у 2019 році.

На рекламу цих акаунтів було витрачено загалом близько $1,93 млн. Експерти Facebook пов'язують роботу фейкових аккаунтів із українським рекламним агентством Postmen.
