Европейский Парламент может направить своих наблюдателей на местные и региональные выборы в Украине. Об этом сегодня в Киеве заявил Президент Европарламента Мартин Шульц, передает  РБК-Украина.

Так, Президент Украины Петр Порошенко заявил, что часть переговоров с Европарламентом будет уделена подготовке к местным выборам в Украине, которые состоятся 25 октября.

"Чрезвычайно важно, чтобы наблюдатели со стороны Европарламента присутствовали на этих выборах и подтвердили свободное волеизъявление украинских граждан", - заявил Порошенко.

В свою очередь Мартин Шульц отметил, что, учитывая ситуацию в Украине, Европарламент рассмотрит вопрос о том, чтобы направить на местные выборы своих наблюдателей.

"Вы упомянули о проведении местных выборов в Украине в октябре этого года. Европейский парламент не имеет такой традиции напрявлять своих наблюдателей на местные или региональные выборы, однако принимая во внимание особую ситуацию в Украине, я думаю, что мы с коллегами сможем довольно быстро предоставить ответ по вашей просьбе", - сообщил Шульц.
