Бывший депутат Верховной Рады Николай Томенко примет участие в выборах мэра Киева.

Об этом говорится на сайте политической партии "Родная страна", которую он возглавляет.

Партия решила принять участие в местных выборах 25 октября, в частности в Киевской, Закарпатской, Тернопольской, Хмельницкой, Херсонской и Черкасской областях. "Сейчас завершается формирование команды для выборов в городской совет столицы, а кандидатом на должность городского головы Киева партия определила Николая Томенко", - сказано в заявлении.

Томенко был депутатом Верховной Рады 4-8 созывов. В 2007 и 2008-2012 годах занимал должность заместителя вице-спикера. В 2016 году его лишили мандата из-за выхода из фракции БПП, по списку которой был избран.

В 2019 году Томенко неудачно баллотировался в Верховную Раду по списку "Гражданской позиции" Анатолия Гриценко.
