Верховний суд Білорусі виніс вирок політв'язню та колишньому кандидату в президенти Білорусі Віктору Бабарику - 14 років тюрми.

Прокурор вимагав засудити Бабарика до 15 років.

Екскандидата в президента звинуватили у отриманні хабара в особливо великому розмірі та легалізації коштів, отриманих злочинним шляхом.

Сам Бабарико провини не визнав, а справу назвав політичною.

Ексголову правління "Белгазпромбанка" затримали 18 червня 2020 року. На той момент він вже зібрав необхідні 100 тис. підписів для висунення кандидатом в президенти. В результаті його не допустили до виборів, відмовивши в реєстрації на підставі листа з Комітету держконтролю, де нібито указувалися злочини і незаконні доходи банкіра.
