Премьер-министр Великобритании Борис Джонсон заявил о необходимости провести новые парламентские выборы после своего поражения в Верховном суде, который признал незаконным решение правительства отправить британский парламент на принудительные каникулы.
Об этом он сказал журналистам в кулуарах Генеральной ассамблеи ООН, сообщает DW.
В то же время лидер лейбористов Джереми Корбин, выступая с заключительной речью на съезде партии в Брайтоне, категорически высказался против проведения новых выборов до тех пор, пока Британии 31 октября грозит жесткий Brexit.
Он еще раз призвал Джонсона подать в отставку. Напомним, Верховный суд Великобритании признал незаконным решение премьер-министра Бориса Джонсона о приостановке работы парламента на пять недель.
После этого Джонсон заявил, что вопреки всему намерен вывести Великобританию из ЕС к 31 октября.
