Премьер-министр Великобритании Борис Джонсон начал избирательную кампанию консерваторов со сравнения лидера Лейбористской партии Джереми Корбина с Иосифом Сталиным.

С критикой лейбористов Джонсон выступил в статье для The Telegraph.

По мнению премьера, «трагедия современной Лейбористской партии» во главе с Корбиным заключается в том, что они ненавидят стремление к получению прибыли, и будут изо всех сил стремиться повышать налоги. Это в итоге, «разрушит страну».

«Они делают вид, что их ненависть направлена только на определенных миллиардеров — и они указывают пальцем на таких людей с радостью и мстительностью, которых не было со времен Сталина, преследовавшего кулаков… Они разрушат саму основу процветания нашей страны», — цитирует статью Джонсона Іndependent.

6 ноября официально началась предвыборная кампания на досрочных парламентских выборах в Британии. Исходя из этого, был распущен нынешний состав британского парламента.

Внеочередные выборы пройдут 12 декабря, а первое заседание намечено на 16 декабря.

Премьер-министр страны Борис Джонсон намерен благодаря этим выборам выйти из патовой ситуации, связанной с Brexit, однако наблюдатели не уверены, что это ему удастся.

Хотя возглавляемые им консерваторы лидируют в социологических опросах, не исключено, что ни у одной из крупных партий не будет абсолютного большинства.
